When I called Kipplee’s to make the reservation, I was told quickly that we could bring a cake but Kipplee’s doesn’t allow room or table space for cakes or gifts. Kipplee’s does not provide plates, napkins or silverware for a birthday party, either.
Agreeing to Kipplee’s policy on parties was fine with us but, unfortunately, Kipplee's turned out to be a very poor choice for a family gathering. There were so many problems at Kipplee’s I don't know where to start but here are the most outstanding:
- Not enough menus for everyone to view at once
- Silverware provided upon request only
- Had to get our own drink refills
- Not all orders were taken at once
- Some of the orders were already getting cold when served
- One of the chicken breast sandwiches was still partially uncooked when served
- Not everything that was ordered was delivered
- Wait for condiments, like ketchup for fries
The most insulting part of the night was the 18% gratuity that was added to each bill as if the service our party received at Kipplee’s deserved a tip. Restaurants, like Kipplee's, should realize that it's important to bring new business in and provide a service that people will bring people back. Kipplee's fell far short of the mark. Instead of reviewing the food at Kipplee’s and planning to recommend to friends and coworkers, we are looking for a restaurant we want to try for our next family party.
