Toys to Keep the Mind Sharp

Young children aren’t the only ones who need to exercise to keep their minds sharp and two toys that will help with that are Loopz and Scrabble Flash. These are two of the popular toys for 2010 and with good reason. They offer versatility by making it fun for a person to play the game alone or with others. That’s something that games creators have started doing to reach a larger portion of the market.

Loopz by Mattel is really a fun game and anyone who remembers the Merlin game will enjoy this new take on a memory game. The idea of the game is to follow the pattern of the Loopz that flash and play a tune by inserting your hand into the Loopz in the right order, breaking the motion sensor field. The pattern gets longer and faster as you get more correct. After three missed attempts, the game is over and you have to start again. There are seven different games that can be played with one or more players.

Scrabble Flash by Hasbro is a new take on the classic game of scrabble with no board required. Instead of the board, the players use five tiles to create words between 3 and 5 letters long. The flash cubes know when a word is formed and even keep score. Scrabble Flash has 3 different games to play alone or with a group and this is great to help with quick thinking skills and. Not recommended for children under 3-years-old because of the potential choking hazard but all other ages will welcome this new twist on a favorite game.

Toddler Toys Develop More Than Fun

Toddler toys like Stride to Ride Dino and Ocean Wonders Sights and Sounds Table are great developmental toys for young minds and bodies. It is always helpful when toys teach children without them even realizing it because they are focused on the fun.

Stride to Ride Dino is made by Fisher Price and is designed to grow with the child. It starts out as a stand behind walker. The front and back legs have wheels at the bottom and the child holds onto the handlebars that are behind the dino’s head. When the child has grown a little more; the back legs close to make a seat for riding. They use their feet to roll along on the floor. Stride to Ride Dino is sure to be a favorite gift for any toddler.

Ocean Wonders Sights and Sounds Table is also made by Fisher Price and helps children learn and develop in several different ways. The legs of the table can be removed for floor play before the child is steady on their legs. Each activity creates a new sound and children learn about shapes and colors while being entertained.

Toys that help a child learn and grow while playing have always been a popular choice with parents, Fisher Price always offers a great selection for fun and learning.

Sing-A-Ma-Jigs Are a Toy for All Ages

Sing-A-Ma-Jigs are silly little plush toys that sing an older song when their bellies are squeezed. They are very cute in bright colors and soft for little hands to be able to pick up. The interesting thing about this toy is that if you put two or more of them together and squeeze their bellies; they sing in harmony.

This toy is made by Fisher Price and each one sings its own tune. There are eight different colors to choose from but many people are buying in groups of two or more because of the interaction between them. In addition to singing alone or in the group, these toys will also chatter amongst themselves.

This has made this toy popular with kids of all ages and collecting them has become difficult as they are flying from store shelves and internet sites quickly. The price of Sing-A-Ma-Jigs is very reasonable which has allowed people to purchase them before the Christmas shopping season.

LEGO's the Perfect Christmas Gift for Boys

LEGO's are a great gift idea for the boys on your Christmas shopping list. They are very versatile and can be a lot of fun for any child who likes to build things. One nice thing about LEGO's is that there are no batteries and no video games.

This is the type of toy that can help a child develop their imagination by allowing them to build anything. The price range of LEGO sets also make them the perfect gift idea for anyone who has a spending limit.

Whether they want  one of the LEGO hot toys for 2010, like the Minotaurus Game, or just want something fun to play with, LEGO's will make the perfect gift for the boys on your Christmas List.

When Adult Children Fight

Sibling rivalry is not something that just happens to children. Sometimes sibling rivalry only gets worse over time, not better. It's hard on the entire family to watch adults act worse than their children. Something that they should have outgrown years ago is still a problem; but why?

One reason for adult sibling rivalry is that one or both siblings never grew out of jealousy of the other. Maybe one child was better at childhood things like school, sports, and other activities and the other child feels inadequate and that continues into adulthood.
Another reason for the issues and fighting is that one child felt that the other received more love and attention than the other and now they feel as an adult they are better able to lash out at their sibling.

It is possible for things to get better between the siblings but that really takes a lof of work from both parties. The one creating the fights and drama has to be willing to admit what they are doing and why. The sibling who is the victim of the childish acts has to be willing to overlook and not escalate situations that will give their sibling the satisfaction of knowing their tactics are working.
In extreme cases of adult sibling rivalry, there is so much fighting and tension that any kind of family reunion or gathering is stressful to all and eventually the family will split apart. The sibling who has caused the trouble is actually glad to split the family and finally have the undivided attention of their parents and other family members.

Individual and family counseling is really needed to sort out the history of the family dynamic. There will have to be some honest communications in order to help heal old and new wounds so these siblings can co-exist within the family unit. Everyone will need to understand their part in how ill will was left unchecked to the point that these adults are still fighting over childish things.

I hope that anyone in this type of relationship can seek the help they need to start to heal themselves and their family for future generations. I don't always believe that it's possible for all parties to let go of anger and resentment they have carried so long, Everyone should have the healthiest relationships they can in their lives.
You can only bend so far without breaking. You can't be happy without being true to who you are and if that means removing yourself from a painful and stressful relationship with a sibling who either can't or won't move past childish animosities. That may be the best option for your future happiness.
